The purpose of this position is to provide service and support to the warehouse by handling shipping and receiving tasks.

  • Loads/unloads merchandise or material from cars or trucks. Packs and unpacks shipments, processing, scanning and shelving of parts, pulling orders, and data entry into computerized inventory control systems.
  • Processes and verifies inventory movement transactions, maintains overall accuracy of inventory levels.
  • Plans layout, maintenance and up keep of stockroom and other storage areas and consolidates existing stock to maximize space utilization. Operates all lift equipment in a safe manner to ensure personal protection and to ensure the protection of other personnel and company property.
  • Maintains housekeeping in and around the back-stock storage areas. Uses scanner & computer to enter data and maintain inventory. May perform other duties as assigned or requested by management.
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate tasks with coworkers within a work unit and/or project.
  • Previous related work experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving. Certified forklift operating license preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence and memos, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees. Requires no basic knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations.
  • Requires basic analytical skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to use computer system to record materials received and shipped. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Physical ability to assist with warehouse operations. Able to lift 50 lbs. Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
